SEDA-Council of Governments (SEDA-COG) is working with community leaders throughout its 11 county region (Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Juniata, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, and Union Counties) to develop a Strategic Action Plan for Land Use, Transportation, and Economic Development.  The Valley Vision 2020 initiative is the first of its kind undertaken by the 11 counties of the SEDA-COG region and strives to address our region’s most pressing land use, transportation, and economic development issues.  The Valley Vision 2020 plan seeks an integrated approach to managing future growth in order to conserve our region’s valued natural and cultural resources while maintaining high standards for quality of life.

 

SEDA-COG has partnered with a team of Commonwealth departments that includes
the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), the Department of Agriculture (PDA), and the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to facilitate and complete this plan.  Valley Vision 2020 is one of ten similar efforts being undertaken in other regions of the Commonwealth.

These state agencies are coordinating their efforts so that implemented projects have more of a regional and long-term impact.
